Stanley 78 (1889 - 1902)

This model has been manufactured since 1884. It has the floral pattern on the handle with its long pointy upper and lower horns. It doesn't have the blade depth adjustment lever found in later models, so it takes a tap from a small hammer to set the depth. This 78 is 100% complete with the depth stop and fence. After cleaning and tuning, this is a good looking plane that makes very clean rabbits.
