Larry Marley Moxon Vise

Maple Moxon vise with Benchcrafted hardware. Has "crubber" ( cork and rubber gasket material) liner on front chop that greatly adds to holding strength. This vice is first mentioned in the book Mechanick exercises by Joseph Moxon in 1677. A printer and map maker, Moxon documented several trades of the day in an effort to preserve the knowledge.
The purpose of this vise is to raise the work to a comfortable height for joinery. It is also seen as a clamp on vise for benches without a permanent vise installed.
